The Choice Is Ours by Ross Smirnoff

Two dragons at battle. Their scales read the words in a radiant rainbow of good and evil. Two dragon heads engage in the center like God and Adam in the Sistine chapel. Who will win?  In the scales of these dragons reads the words of hope and fear. Positive and negative words yet they open up possibilities and pathways that we each choose every moment.  We make decisions every day to help or hurt each other.  The choice is ours. In the corner of the mural are four animals.  An owl, frog, eagle, and snake.  These represent elements but also warnings.  They echo the dragons intentions.  The background is the sky, deep purple and blue with a band of fire ornamenting the central image.  In the mouths of the dragons, a bridge connects the them in the center and people are walking into each one. We make the choice which way we will move. The choice is ours.

A field of battle
Where the crows
Devour the dead.
A Halloween costume
With a big beard.
I gaze into the
Mirror in my parent's
Garage and see my
Sister in the
Supermarket aisle.
I won the Halloween
Contest and was
Rewarded with
An ice cream
Sandwich.

Dream NYC

I get caught in the haves and havenots
Impossible dreams I awake
Every morning to your prayer

I'll never forget to be a poet
I was born to spread a message
Time to come out of the shadows

March Drawings

The One by Ross Smirnoff

I need to go deep into the unconscious and bring alive buried ancient myths.
Create a tribe unto which shamans delve into alternate realities and bring about impossible miracles.

I forfeit to the energy of the great elements in the hopes they guide me towards the depths of imagination and use me as a vessel to divulge the secrets of the universe.

Only then will humanity be awakened to our forgotten purpose and display the rights bestowed upon us by the one true creator.
